I survived. The TBI and physical injuries remind me of an avoided fate. I mean I wish it all had never happened but it certainly did lead to my interest in brain physiology and made me aware that we know slightly more than squat about the brain and its workings. That science curiousity led me to evolution and genetics which landed me at your doorstep. Keep doing the important work. I'm excited to listen to you reading. Note - popular academic books are great when read by the author because I imagine the author is lecturing. College was the best of times. :-D
I appreciate you saying that. I can confirm that it is indeed an arduous and time consuming process! But I always like it when the author reads the book themselves with the intended intonations, so I wanted to do it for my readers / listeners.
After surviving a traumatic brain injury I've been a nearly exclusive audiobook user. I favor the android ecosystem for lack of ecposure ti ios and am also quite pleased with it's functionality to read kindle books via tts. I was born at the right time and am fortunate technology helps to quench my curiousity and thirst for learning.
Separately, I learned several years ago of your work from Joseph Henrich in whichever form of media I'd discovered his work. I thought it fitting he was the first reviewer's words you chose to share with us.
I'm very sorry to hear about the TBI, but I'm glad the audiobooks are working for you. I'm actually a big audiobook and TTS as well - just a lot of reading in my job and it can be exhausting. Helps to switch modalities (and also great for commutes).
